Warm Spring- 2018

Set in a small village at the foothills of the Taihang Mountains, Warm Spring follows a young girl who leaves behind her urban routine to spend the summer with her grandparents in her ancestral hometown.Through her eyes, the film gently observes everyday rural life: climbing hills to gather wild vegetables, wandering through sunlit fields, and sharing unspoken moments of care with her grandparents. The camera lingers not on dramatic events, but on gestures, textures, and rhythms - the rustle of leaves, the warmth of shared meals, the quiet companionship between generations.

As the child moves between playfulness and curiosity, the film reveals the subtle emotional landscape of intergenerational relationships in contemporary China. The grandparents’ steady presence and the child’s innocent joy form a tender portrait of familial continuity, where love is expressed not through words, but through daily acts of care. Warm Spring is a meditation on childhood, memory, and the enduring threads of family that connect urban modernity with rural roots.
